The Friends of The Saratoga Libraries grant $141,000 to the Saratoga Library.
A message from Mike Eitner - Saratoga Community Librarian.
"Saratoga Library is extremely fortunate to have the support and funding contributed by Friends of the Saratoga Libraries. Each month, Friends of the Saratoga Libraries volunteers contribute over 1,000 hours of their time volunteering to raise funds for the library! As a result, Saratoga Library was granted $141,000 this year for children’s, teens, and adult programs and services. With this funding, Saratoga Library has the opportunity to provide unique, educational, and enriching programs for the community. These programs include app development for teens, animation workshop, photography workshop, book clubs, Wildlife Associates, and several children’s crafts and activities."
Adult and Teen Collections and Programs:
The Santa Clara County Library District and the Saratoga Library collections have consistently been highly rated by our patrons. An augmentation of the County budget would enable Saratoga Library to enhance the adult and teen collections. Our very popular bestseller collection has been expanded to include media and teen materials, and this fund will help us maintain and improve that collection. Saratoga Library’s Adult and Teen programs have been enjoyed and appreciated by a wide variety of audiences. This fund will enable us to hire presenters and buy supplies for our various programs.
Children's Collection and Programs:
Children’s collections are one of our most popular collections. This also means that they need to be periodically reordered and refreshed. Programming for children of all ages is very popular and these funds would greatly help the library present exceptional programs that appeal to diverse audiences.
Community Events and Outreach Librarian:
Saratoga Library is committed to reaching out to residents in the cities of Saratoga and Monte Sereno. The Library recognizes the value of reaching out to residents and forming partnerships with the cities of Saratoga and Monte Sereno and other organizations in the cities.
